Archlinux VM -- Part the Zeroeth -- In Which Pretty Buttons are Pushed

As I wrote in my first post evar! -- I really like using Archlinux. I like that it's minimal, up-to-date, and documented.

So, to kick things off, I'll be giving you a walk-through of a normal installation process.

#0 -- Foundation

I'll be creating a Virtual Machine which will run my Archlinux installation.

Because I don't like spending money, I'll be using Oracle's VirtualBox hypervisor (free!), which you should be able to run on just about any platform. (Not that I've verified that -- me, verified? Ha! I find you lack of faith disturbing.)

So: for step #0, you should download and install VirtualBox.

...

Assuming you've done that ...

You'll be looking at this screen.

Create a New virtual-machine. Make sure it's set up as an Archlinux machine. (I've selected a 64-bit machine, as my physical hardware is 64-bit.)

Give it some appropriate name.

The next few pages are pretty simple, and you can accept the defaults VirtualBox presents you:

...

Until eventually you wind up back at the main screen.

Great success, high five!

In Part the First, we'll begin the actual installation!
